Kinja'd!!!

So one of the wonderful things about OPPO is the variety of cars people dig. I see alot of questions here on particular cars or makes, and it has lead me to believe we should have a repository of handles associated with the make and or model you feel like you have EXPERT (or just a healthy) level knowledge of, whether that knowledge be towards the repair, restoration, preservation, or purchasing issues (known mechanical/body issues, what to look for) of that car. I will fish around for some amount of days before making an official post on who to go to for advice. Then I can see the granularity and full scope of the data and sort it out there. Of course since kinja doesn't have a messaging feature built in you will not be able to contact directly, but with the will, I am sure there will become a way.

I will start off with my particular fortes to give an idea of what I am looking for

505Turbeaux -

Peugeot 70-93 all models - repair, purchase, restoration

Citroen - Post war - repair, purchase

Mercedes W123, 124, 126 and all pre 1980s chassis - repair, purchase, restoration, diesel specialist

BMW E3-E9 repair, restoration

VW air cooled (all) - repair, restoration, purchasing, preservation

I am sure there is more, and this will be a rolling project to keep up to date on, but this could be a handy resource for us car nuts out there. Please post what you have good knowledge of and don't mind helping a fellow opponaut with!

I know a bit about the Diablo and quite a bit about torlon (excellent plastic for cars - can half the weight of an engine blueprinted in it)

I've got a clunk on the from of my 08 A4. I bought a control arm kit and replaced all of the control arms and sway bar end links (skipped the tie rods but they felt tight). All of the bolts are right but it still clunks when I accelerate. Should I create a new post for this?

FWD or Quattro?

It may be the engine/transmission mounts going bad. Then it may be any other 10 things that I can think of, all of which are expensive.

Can you tell what side of the car it's coming from?

I promise I'll jump in here, but it's gonna take awhile to give a complete list. Great idea!

Possibly motor mounts, it doesn't sound like a CV to me. There are lots of factors that could be causing it.

Honda D-series motors and the cars they came in.

The del Sol is still one of my favorite cars of all time (about to buy another one, actually), and my friend in high school had a small tribe of CRXs that everyone was always working on. So yeah, there's that.

I keep thinking more and more about these, but the market would be very small for them. A good turbo would cost what, 1000 euro over there?

I would say that I have expert knowledge of 2003-2008 Hyundai tiburons. Unfortunately I might add.
